A tour for established ski mountaineers! For those who have skied the busier areas and are looking for an authentic mountain odyssey. You must have skied with us before to attempt this route. Often in good condition from April onwards.

Ecrins Ski Mountaineering 

Itinerary

Day 1 Ruillans pass – Lauze or Girose passes

Meeting at Briançon, Oulx train station or La Grave. With the cablecar we reach the Ruillans pass (3200 m), then a short way with skins to the Lauze pass (3512 m) and descent to the De la Selle refuge (2673 m). If too icy crampon down Girose.

Day 2 Selle glacier – Replat pass

Ascent by the Selle glacier and the Replat pass (3335 m) via the Tete sud du Replat 3428m to the Châtellerêt refuge (2232 m).

Day 3 Grande Ruine glacier – Casse pass

Leaving for the Grande Ruine glacier and the Casse pass. We reach the Adèle Planchard refuge (3450 m).

Day 4 Grande Ruine

Our objective today is the Grande Ruine (3765 m), and then follows a long and beautiful descent to the Alpe refuge (2077 m).

Day 5 Platte des Agneaux glacier – Emile Pic pass

Today we go to the Platte des Agneaux glacier and the Emile Pic pass (pre dawn start) via the Pic de Neige Cordier 3614m (mountaineering). Then we reach theEcrins refuge (3170 m).
D +1400/-400m

Day 6 Dome des Ecrins

The most southerly 4000’er! (4015 m) (although we won’t climb the Barre desEcrins)

Day 7 Ski Mountaineering on either Roche Faurio or Pointe Louise

Return to Glacier Blanc hut

Day 8 Ski out to le Monetier les Bains via the col du Monetier (taxi?)
