Summer 2024 Alpine Climbing Season

Craig and John on the traverse of the Domes de Miage, Mont Blanc Massif

The 2024 summer alpine season has started much like the preceeding winter, unstable with lots of precipitation. Conditions when the weather is fine are very good, particularly on the classic snow routes.

I convened the British Mountain Guide Aspirant L3 Training alongside the Ecole Nationale de Ski et Alpinisme in Chamonix. The BMG has 7 Aspirants in that particular cohort. We climbed 5 days including the Gaillands, Aiguille Rouges and around the Orny refuge (including the Traverse of the Aiguilles Dorees).
